In this article, we will talk about where to donate wigs for cancer patients.
Wig donations are vital in helping cancer patients suffering from hair loss feel confident and whole again while going through treatments.
My name is Lori, a friend of mine who runs a hotel and has a great relationship with the American Cancer Society (ACS). She has been partnered with them for the past six years with housing and donations.
Over the years, I have learned a lot from them regarding wig donations and cancer patients’ support, while I was helping her out in working with the ACS.
Today, I will share everything I know about wig donations, and Let’s work together to help those in need of a little HOPE together!

American Cancer Society (ACS)
Wigs can be donated through various nonprofit organizations that work directly with the American Cancer Society. American Cancer Society is an organization supporting, researching, and providing excellent care for cancer patients.
As of now, ACS does not accept wig donations directly. ACS advises possible wig or hair donors to contact United Way to find local places that accept wig donations. However, ACS recommends partnering with Wigs for Kids and Hair We Share organizations.
ACS partners with programs and/or organizations such as Ebeauty, Hair We Share, and Wigs for kids.
Ebeauty
Ebeauty is one of the top leading nonprofit organizations that donate wigs to the American Cancer Society for cancer patients. The founder is a 2-time cancer survivor and wanted to create a way to make newly diagnosed women feel encouraged and let go of the negative connotations with the disease.
Ebeauty wig exchange program takes the donated wigs from cancer patients at the end of their journey and repurposes them for just starting their journey.
Donating through Ebeauty is quite simple. All you have to do is fill out the required form, bubble wrap, and box the wig with the form included and a $20 donation to cover the cleaning, sorting, and shipment to the next recipient.
Donations are tax-deductible, and if you want a tax receipt, all you have to do is include your email in the package.
Ebeauty’s headquarters is located in DC, with drop-off locations in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. They have a drop off location in Elk Grove, CA, but if you are not close by to Elk Grove, you can mail your donation to:
EBeauty, 1350 Eye St. NW, Suite P-100, Washington, DC 20005, USA. Their email is ebeauty@ebeauty.com.
Hair We Share
Hair We Share is an organization that strives to preserve the dignity of those who suffer from medical hair loss. Hair we share uses donated ponytails to customize wigs for adults and children and never sell wigs.
Hair We Share offers another program for hair donation called the ponytail tracking program, where the donor sends in their ponytail and a minimum $145 donation to the company. Once the hair is received, the donor gets a confirmation email and replies with t-shirt size.
Once the wig is made from the donor’s ponytail and the wig is matched with their online donation form, the donor gets a confirmation email and a picture of the customized wig. Hair we share does have a minimum length of 12” or 8” if joining the ponytail tracking program.
However, they are requesting longer ponytail lengths as they are running low on longer wig lengths. To send donated hair, donors must first fill out an online donation form, then put the dry hair in a padded envelope to prevent damage. Then submit hair to:
Hair We Share, 4 Expressway Plaza Suite, LL14 Roslyn Heights, NY 11577, USA. Their email is care@hairweshare.org.
Wigs For Kids
Furthermore, one last great nonprofit organization that the American Cancer Society refers wig and hair donors is Wigs for Kids. To donate through Wigs for kids, you will need to go to their website and fill out their hair donation form.
You can locate a participating salon in your area to cut and donate your hair or follow their “How to donate your hair” guidelines on their website if you cut and donate your hair yourself.
For more information and access to the donation forms and participating salons, you can access this information by going to this page. You can also ship your donations to:
Wigs for Kids — Hair Donations, 24231 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio 44145, USA. There phone number is + 1.440.333.4433.

I would love to help out with a hair donation. I have hair about 5 inches below my shoulders. I have a brother that was close to death with cancer. He’s won his battle and deserves his hair! I grew mine for this exact reason! I think it’s going to help someone.
